Home › Bible Study Discussions > Bible Study Discussions with Gary PanellQuestion: Parts of the Bible are very confusing and there are so many study aids. What one is the best and easiest to understand?Answer: Really there are a lot of Bible aids (helps) that are available today. I would encourage you to get to a Bible book store and check them out. These are study Bibles I would recommend: The first one on the list in my opinion would be THE WORD FOR TODAY BIBLE {Nelson} (New King James Version). This has comments from Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel. He goes all the way through the Bible with these comments, in an easy to read format. This is my favorite Bible to have devotions in every morning. The second study Bible I would suggest is The NEW DEFENDER'S Study Bible {World} by Dr. Henry M. Morris. This one is done with the King James Version. Of course, Henry M. Morris is the one who started Institute for Creation Research (ICR) so you know he has a lot about creation in it. Third, I recommend, New Spirit Filled Life Bible {Nelson} (New King James Version). This, of course has a lot of help with the Filling of the Holy Spirit, and gifts. Also, there are great footnotes and questions people might have and some Hebrew and Greek word helps. Fourth, my wife uses, and likes very much, The NIV Study Bible {Zondervan} This one has a lot of good foot notes as well. I used it some when I was researching our study on Acts. There are many more good ones such as The Open Bible New King James Version {Nelson}, and New Scofield Reference Edition King James Version {Oxford} There are many more good ones, but that reminds me to suggest to you to look at our Bible helps. Actually, I have used in them, most all of the above study Bibles, plus many other good Bible commentaries. I think you would find these Bible studies of ours very useful when having your devotions, or preparing to give a Bible study of your own. I have designed them so you can look up what we have to say after reading your Bible. I believe you will find that our study will save you a lot of time that you would normally have to spend on research. Of course, we don't have the whole Bible, so these other Bibles would be good to get. Yard sales and book sales are good places to visit for some good prices on Bibles. Here are a list of our Bible Studies that would go along with your Bible readings: Bible Study: Acts (Part 1-Chapters 1-2) Thank you for the question and God bless you as you study His precious Word!
